Hey ARMY, time to pop the confetti for Yoongi. His MV “Haegeum” just crossed 100 million views on YouTube, which makes it his third solo video under Agust D to ever do that. The other two are “Agust D” and “Daechwita.”
“Haegeum” dropped back on April 21, 2023, as the title track from his first solo studio album D-DAY. It took about two years, four months, and 23 days to hit that milestone. That might sound like a long time, but in this game, that kind of staying power means people aren’t just clicking once—they keep coming back.
What’s wild is the artistry in “Haegeum.” It mixes sounds of the traditional Korean instrument haegeum with hard-hitting hip hop, and the visuals lean very cinematic, dark, and dramatic. There’s a story there—not just lyrics and beats, but tension, contrast, characters clashing: Being vs Exister. And yes, that dramatic twist hit so many nerves.
Also, D-DAY isn’t a side project. Yoongi wrote, composed, produced much of it, steered the concept. It’s part of a trilogy of sorts—following Agust D (mixtape) and D-2 (mixtape). “Haegeum” is one of those tracks that shows both growth and consistency: Agust D evolving, but also never forgetting what made Agust D, Agust D.
So yes, “Haegeum” enters the 100M views club. And yeah, this feels like one of those moments where the score doesn’t just count—it means something. It’s proof that with depth, artistry, and authenticity, things that matter still break through.
Congratulations are due, of course. Big ups to Yoongi for giving us music that lasts.
