Who is Jeon Jungkook, Jungkook of BTS?

Jeon Jungkook is BTS’s Golden Maknae — and no, that’s not just a cute nickname. He really can do it all: sing, dance, rap, paint, film, edit, box, cook, and probably build IKEA furniture faster than you.

Jungkook was born in Busan on September 1, 1997. He attended Baekyang Elementary and Middle School before moving to Seoul to become a trainee.

In 2011, he auditioned for Superstar K3 in Daegu at just 13 years old. Although eliminated early, the audition changed his life: seven agencies tried to recruit him. Instead of choosing a big-name company, Jungkook went with the then-small BigHit Entertainment, inspired by RM’s rap skills.

He became a trainee in 2011, and in 2012, he trained in Los Angeles at Movement Lifestyle, learning from some of the best choreographers in the world. This experience boosted his stage confidence and sharpened his dancing.

Before debuting, Jungkook appeared as a backup dancer in Jo Kwon’s I’m Da One MV and GLAM’s Party (XXO). He also began uploading practice videos, hinting at the star he would soon become.

Jungkook’s trainee period lasted just two years, but he quickly earned a reputation for being “good at everything.” Singing, dancing, drawing, filming — he absorbed everything like a sponge.

At first, he was painfully shy, often avoiding cameras. But with the encouragement of his hyungs, especially RM and Jimin, Jungkook grew into his confidence.

He attended the School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA), where he balanced studies with intense training. By 2017, he graduated and later received the Presidential Award from Global Cyber University, honoring his excellence in Broadcasting and Entertainment studies.

Jungkook debuted with BTS on June 13, 2013, with No More Dream. As the youngest member, he quickly became the group’s center of attention thanks to his versatile talent.

In 2022, Jungkook made history by performing at the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Qatar with Dreamers. By 2023–2024, his solo songs were dominating charts worldwide, proving that he’s not just BTS’s youngest — he’s a global superstar in his own right.
